We're Funding Women's Research

  • Male vs Female studies

There are 67% more male-only studies than female-only studies. A 2016 overview observed that there are five times more research studies into erectile dysfunction (which affects ~19% of men) than into PMS (which affects ~90% of women)

    (The Guardian, 7 May 2025).

  • Beyond Oncology

Just 1% of healthcare research beyond cancer is invested in women-specific conditions, leaving conditions like PMS, PMDD, preeclampsia, and endometriosis massively underfunded

    (McKinsey & Company).

  • Public funding gap

Less than 2.5% of publicly funded research is dedicated solely to reproductive health, despite the fact that approximately one in three women will suffer from a reproductive or gynaecological health problem.

(BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology).
